Chocolate Chip Granola Bars

This is another recipe from my best friend Dawn’s kitchen and it is a healthy dessert with less sugar than the average baked goods. Picture taken from saveur.com

Ingredients:

3/4 cup butter

1/2 cup honey

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

1 cup all-purpose flour ( you can use 1/4 cup almond flour with 3/4 cup all-purpose flour for a healthier bar)

4 1/2 cups oats (quick or regular)

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (you can add fruits and nuts to your liking as pictured above)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line an 13 X 9 X 2 pan with parchment paper.  Cream together butter, honey, brown sugar, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and then stir in chocolate chips. Press mixture firmly and evenly into pan. Bake for 18-22 minutes. Cool in pan for 10-15 minutes then press mixture down again and finish cooling. Cut into bars and wrap individually in plastic or stack in airtight container. Can store in fridge, just let them come to room temperature before eating.
